Anything that can move off the road, we call it an off-road truck. But check out this enormous, off beat, not your ordinary off-road vehicle which can take on anything that comes in its way. This off-road vehicle is made to destroy and it unfolds chaos and havoc when unleashed! Yeah this is the epitome of modern warfare tanks available today, M1A1 Abrams Tank.
Check out this video where host Alison Sorenson hangs out with the Delta Company 1st Tank Marines over at the 29 Palms Military Base, California. This M1A1 Abrams Tank feature packs some serious heat. Watch as Alison gets up close and personal with the crew and cover all the angles as they fire off some live rounds.
First came 4×4’s which led to the introduction of 6×6’s and now they’ve managed to bring out an 8×8! Check out this video to see this 8×8 crawling struggling to crawl on the uneven tracks of some unknown desert.
The video owner claims that this is the first (of many) tests that the 8×8 is doing. And he also says that they were testing the mobility over sand and general functionality. But dude where’s the power? After watching this video anybody can tell that not only size but even power does matter. What do you guys say?
Based in Moscow, Russia, ZiL is a major truck and heavy equipment manufacturer which was also known for producing armored fighting vehicles, aerosans as well as buses.
Check out this amazing video.
If Russians can bring out trucks of this caliber then I think hardly there is any need of roads in Russia. ZIL-4972, based on the Blue Bird a like chassis, is a 6×6 extreme off-road truck developed by Vezdehod-GVA together with ZiL factory at the beginning of the 90s. This is the pre-production video of ZiL-4972 (6х6) in action. It is just unstoppable!
The 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroitheldearlier this year witnessed the debut of the Kia Borrego midsize SUV. The vehicle, designed by Peter Schreyer, has been developed independently by Kia Motors and will be manufactured in Korea.
The engines that power the Borrego come in two configurations. A DOHC 3.8L V6 all-aluminum engine that pumps up 276 BHP and a DOHC 4.6L V8 all-aluminum engine that generates 337 BHP. Both these engines are more powerful than any engine by Kia until date.
Both the engines are available in either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The four-wheel drive Borrego uses full-time Torque-on-Demand system equipped with electronic sensors that monitor road conditions and distribute power to the appropriate wheels.
The fuel economy achieved is also impressive. While the V6 achieves 17/21 city/highway for 2WD and 16/21 city/highway for 4WD, the V8 achieves 15/22 city/highway for 2 WD and 15/20 city/highway for 4WD.
The suspension is muscular, offering optimal riding experience, both on and off road. Flared back headlamps, LED side view mirrors and chrome accents facilitate in making it look appealing. Innovative technical features on the vehicle ensure a smooth and quiet ride quality. Large 18 inch alloy wheels offer increased off-road capability. Its roomy and comfortable interiors with three rows of seating is adequate to seat seven adults.
The price tag for the Borrego base LX V6 model will be $26,535 while the fully loaded EX V8 will cost $35,535.
I donno how did he manage to do that, but it was pretty close man. He saved himself in the nick of time. And it’s amazing to see that even the BMW X5 did not roll. After getting off the trail, he managed to recover, escaped a close shave and meanwhile he kept his nerves cool and brought it back on the track! Whoa!
FJ Cruiser has been one of the toughest off-road trucks present around. It is that one amazing truck that can take on any terrain. It also comes with some of the advanced features like rear locking facility and A-track system. Toyota wanted to prove that they were the best, so they just created an ‘off-road proving grounds’ at the SEMA 2006.Yeah man, you heard me right! They went and constructed their own ‘off-road proving grounds’.
Check out this car video, with an intro by cute Amber Goetz, to believe your selves.
Toyota brought their FJ Cruiser to SEMA to prove what it can do. To do this, they fabricated an intricate and hardcore off road test course that tests and pushes the FJ Cruiser’s limits. Tim Scully was also nice enough to show that their FJ Cruiser was unstoppable on their course. Participants were allowed to take a stab at it themselves also, what a blast!
Citroen is all set to bring out its new concept, Citroen Cruise Crossover which has 3 axles and 6 tires. Citroen wants to provide an ultimate off-road vehicle that can move easily even on the harshest of tracks. This all terrain vehicle based on the Citroen’s SUV, C-Crossover, will be developed with the help of Espera Sbarro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sbarro School.
Gizmag.com reports that, “Despite its imposing looks, the Cruise Crosser also displays strong green credentials. To minimize its impact on the environment, a hybrid drivetrain combines a conventional diesel engine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_engine with an electric motor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_motor located under the rear floor to cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions Green-Business-Travel . And when the electric third axle is used alone, it is even possible to drive silently in ‘Zero Emission Vehicle’ mode.”
Check out this massive burnout video. The rider just puked a whole lot of flames using his truck on the road. Watch closely as the smoke fills up the whole of background within seconds. And did you see the marks he left on the road.Well, one would wonder what he was thinking about while making this video. I know what he was thinking, “Environmental Protection”!!!? Oops, I mean “Environmental Pollution”… He just contributed his share on today’s growing environmental pollution!
