The video owner claims that this is the first (of many) tests that the 8×8 is doing. And he also says that they were testing the mobility over sand and general functionality. But dude where’s the power? After watching this video anybody can tell that not only size but even power does matter. What do you guys say?

The vehicle, designed by Peter Schreyer, has been developed independently by Kia Motors and will be manufactured in Korea.

The engines that power the Borrego come in two configurations. A DOHC 3.8L V6 all-aluminum engine that pumps up 276 BHP and a DOHC 4.6L V8 all-aluminum engine that generates 337 BHP. Both these engines are more powerful than any engine by Kia until date.

Both the engines are available in either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The four-wheel drive Borrego uses full-time Torque-on-Demand system equipped with electronic sensors that monitor road conditions and distribute power to the appropriate wheels.

The fuel economy achieved is also impressive. While the V6 achieves 17/21 city/highway for 2WD and 16/21 city/highway for 4WD, the V8 achieves 15/22 city/highway for 2 WD and 15/20 city/highway for 4WD.

The suspension is muscular, offering optimal riding experience, both on and off road. Flared back headlamps, LED side view mirrors and chrome accents facilitate in making it look appealing. Innovative technical features on the vehicle ensure a smooth and quiet ride quality. Large 18 inch alloy wheels offer increased off-road capability. Its roomy and comfortable interiors with three rows of seating is adequate to seat seven adults.

The price tag for the Borrego base LX V6 model will be $26,535 while the fully loaded EX V8 will cost $35,535.

Check out this cool video on TLC Icon and watch the exciting features that come within a standard Icon. Listen to Jonathan Ward, founder of TLC, 4×4, as he takes you through the video explaining about its many utility features such as adjustable steering wheel to meet a person’s comfort, front and rear locking traction controls and front and rear axles independent of one to get out of that puddle of mud.

This is what TLC people had to say in their website, “Sport Utility Vehicles have all but lost their utility. That’s why we created the ICON. Hand crafted and custom designed to the highest standards of operation and durability; it is a vehicle without peer for a journey without boundaries.
